Constituted for defence work
Formed by deliberate carve-out
G Defence was formed by carving out the defence practice built over 25 years within our wider commercial group. The defence work did not need a new capability. It needed its own perimeter.
Constituting the practice as a stand-alone entity means programme governance, export licensing and end-user obligations sit inside one clearly bounded corporate structure, with its own audit trail, separate from the group's commercial activity. For a government counterparty that boundary is the point: it is visible, it is inspectable, and it does not depend on anyone's discretion.
We are platform-agnostic. We are not tied to a single manufacturer, which means the recommendation follows the requirement rather than the inventory, and we will say when a platform is the wrong answer.
Operating principles
-
01
Requirement first
We start from the operational task, the environment it will be performed in and the crews who will perform it, then work back to the platform.
-
02
Whole-of-life economics
Acquisition price is a fraction of the cost. We price and plan for the sustainment tail from day one.
-
03
Sovereign capability
Every programme is structured to leave capability behind: trained people, transferred procedures, local depth.
-
04
Documented and licensable
Nothing moves without end-user documentation and the appropriate export authorisations in place.
What a counterparty gets
AIndependent
No manufacturer owns our recommendation. We select against the requirement: platform-agnostic sourcing, honest trade-off analysis, fleet rationalisation advice.
BAccountable
One counterparty from requirement through to end of life. Fewer interfaces, clearer risk, faster decisions. Single prime responsibility with defined escalation and authority.
CDisciplined
A compliance perimeter built into the corporate structure, not bolted onto the sales process. Licensed and documented transfers, screened counterparties, auditable chain of custody.
